Marvel Comics is about to give five fan-favorite heroes an extra fantastic treatment before Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters.Marvel Comics recently revealed a slate of five new variant covers celebrating the Fantastic Four. More specifically, celebrating Mister Fantastic himself, Reed Richards, by giving each series’ titular hero the infinitely stretchy treatment. The covers in question include variants for Deadpool #15 by David Baldeón, Gwenpool #2 by Joshua Cassara and Matt Wilson, Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #14 by Jan Bazaldua, Amazing Spider-Man #6 by Stefano Caselli, and West Coast Avengers #8 by Federico Vicentini, all of which will be available in July.Even better for fans of the franchise, the Fantastic Four will be taking center stage in a brand-new series from writer Ryan North and artist Humberto Ramos. Set to begin in July, the official synopsis for Fantastic Four explains that things begin “during the events of One World Under Doom, also helmed by North, the Fantastic Four face Doom in a fight to save the world – until it suddenly goes catastrophically wrong, sending them to four different eras in Earth’s history! Alone and isolated in wildly different time periods, Reed, Johnny, Ben, and Sue all have to fight to survive. Their only hope is to reach the Forever Stone: a mass of dense granite that happens to be one of the longest-lasting rocks on the planet, which – through a combination of obscurity and raw geologic luck – has stayed both intact and accessible for most of Earth’s history.”
