DC Comics has released a first-look preview and variant covers for Batman writer James Tynion IV’s new series. Tynion’s upcoming The Nice House by the Sea is a twelve-issue sequel to his Eisner Award-winning comic book series The Nice House on the Lake.
Per DC, The Nice House by the Sea #1 will hit comic book shelves on July 24. The book’s preview pages reveal the gorgeous illustrations of series artist Álvaro Martínez Bueno and opens with one of the protagonists, Oliver Landon Clay, musing in a post-apocalyptic setting. In addition to Bueno’s main cover, The Nice House by the Sea #1 has variant covers drawn by Nick Robles, Hayden Sherman, Dani, and Brad Simpson. The preview includes character designs by Bueno and an untitled letter from Max to Oliver.
“The cast of DC’s The Nice House by the Sea includes the Doctor, the Writer, the Historian, the Actor, the Artist, the Priest, the Scientist, the Singer, the Politician, and the Mathematician. When Max whispered to each of them the truth of what they deserved—to be saved from disaster, to carry on the flame of civilization in a paradise built just for them—they all leaped at the chance.”
