The DC Universe has a brand new Green Arrow, and he could be the perfect person to follow in Oliver Queen’s footsteps.
After the sudden disappearance of Oliver Queen in the pages of Green Arrow #13, his fellow heroes can only wonder where he has gone. Soon enough, Arsenal and Cheshire Cat find out exactly where that is when their mission to break Jade Nguyen, aka Cheshire, out of prison sees the pair cross paths with Ollie. Unfortunately for them, Ollie is now completely dedicated to Amanda Waller’s cause. As such, it is time for someone else to step into the role of the Green Arrow, and Ollie’s son Connor Hawke is more than willing to do just that.
The original, pre-New 52 iteration of Connor Hawke was introduced in 1994’s Green Arrow #0 by writer Kelley Puckett and Jim Apar. Born to Ollie and Sandra Hawke, Connor and his mother were abandoned by his father shortly after being born. Eventually, Connor discovered his father’s superhero alter-ego, inspiring him to follow in Oliver’s footsteps and embark upon a career as a costumed crime fighter for himself. Despite the obvious strain between Connor and Ollie, the two have since come to terms with their relationship and place in one another’s lives.
