Ever since a whole new breed of the malevolent psychic entity known as Onslaught emerged in the pages of The Original X-Men #1 (by Christos Gage, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, and Frank D’Armata), a similarly Multiversal variant of the Phoenix has done everything she can to eradicate the threat it poses. Unfortunately, there simply wasn’t any team of X-Men capable of taking on that task.As seen in the pages of Weapon X-Men #1 (by Christos Gage, Yildiray Çinar, Nolan Woodard, Carlos Lao, and VC’s Clayton Cowles), this led to the Phoenix and her shadowy ally assembling a new team composed entirely of Wolverine variants. Though not every member of these Weapon X-Men is as lethal as the rest of others, each of them is more than capable of holding their own against whatever comes next, or at the very least, of surviving it.When the threat of Celestial judgment loomed over his world, Logan took it upon himself to become the living heir to Apocalypse in order to stave off total annihilation. With his newfound powers as Weapon Omega, Logan resurrected deceased mutants and waged all-out war on any who opposed, or might come to oppose, his absolute reign. Thankfully, Jean was able to free Logan from both the influence of the Celestials and the Death Seed buried within him. Since then, Logan has spent most of his time hunting down those who worked under his short-lived regime, up until the Multiverse called upon him to hunt down an even greater threat.
