Years ago, Otto Octavius took over Peter Parker’s body and became the “Superior” Spider-Man, before sacrificing his control of Peter’s body when he ran up against a villain that he could not defeat on his own (thereby conceding that Peter was actually the superior Spider-Man), and now, mistakes that Otto made during his time as Spider-Man are coming back to haunt the REAL Spider-Man, but now that Anna-Maria Marconi is in danger, Otto is willing to do what it takes to help Peter save her, even if it involves Peter adopting Otto’s old Superior Spider-Man costume, as we show in this CBR exclusive preview of next week’s Superior Spider-Man #3.Superior Spider-Man #3 is from writer Dan Slott, penciler Mark Bagley, inker John Dell and letterer Joe Caramagna (and presumably colorist Edgar Delgado), and continues the main conflict of the series, which is that while he was Spider-Man, Otto hired a lab assistant, Estrella Lopez, who solved a problem that Otto could not, so when he returned to his Doctor Octopus body later on and lots his memories of his time as Spider-Man, he had no memory of how he had solved a particular problem (not knowing, of course, that the reason he can’t figure it out was because it wasn’t him who solved it). Inadvertently, he then released Lopez, who he had captured after she exposed herself to high levels of radiation and became a super-powerful being. Lopez, now calling herself Super-Nova, wants revenge on the Spider-Man that SHE knows, who she doesn’t realize is not the current Spider-Man at all.DAN SLOTT (W) • MARK BAGLEY (A/C) • VARIANT COVER BY TBA
