Peter Parker has just reunited with the symbiote that nearly destroyed his life – And they’re going to have to save the world together.
While Eddie Brock and his various selves from throughout time and space converge on what is sure to be an unexpectedly brutal professional wrestling event in the pages of Venom War #1, Peter Parker is well on his way toward intervening as only he can. Though Peter’s usual red-and-blue suit is out of commission, he still has his black Spider-Man suit to throw on when needed. Or rather, Peter’s black suit has him, as it turns out to be none other than the Venom symbiote itself in disguise. Even more surprising, it seems like this time they are actually on the same side of the fight.
After being violently spurned by Spider-Man, Venom found a new, mostly permanent host in the form of Eddie Brock, who also harbored a lethal grudge against Peter at the time. Initially, the two played the role of an outright villain together as Venom. However, they quickly found themselves spiraling into the life of an unlikely anti-hero as New York City’s Lethal Protector. In the years since, Eddie and Venom’s relationship with one another has evolved, as have their respective histories, ultimately leading them to be separated following Eddie’s ascension to the role of the Marvel Unvierse’s King in Black.
